SYNOPSIS

Dirty deeds that cannot be undone.

A reworking of Shakespeare's MACBETH set in the seedy underworld of Sydney's Kings Cross, STAINED transposes the wilds of the Scottish heath to the famous Strip in Darlinghurst Road.  Fixing the famous struggle for power amongst the vice and organised crime, STAINED gives an urban voice to the blank verse, superseding it with the growls and snarls of street-wise slang.

Directed and written by Peta Downes in association with members of the company, STAINED was produced by Storm the Barricade Productions in partnership with Darlinghurst Theatre Company as part of the 2003 IN THE RAW FESTIVAL.
